Holidays!

Happy Holidays,

Mark and I are driving home from Phoenix today after a great visit with our son Mark and his wife Kelly. My mom was able to spend part of our time with us. I'm so glad she was able to see them. As some of you know Mark and Kelly moved into their new home in September. It was really fun to see how they decorated with Mark's art and Kelly's quilts. Their home is very warm and inviting. We were also able to see a lot of the Haunschild - Parish clan while we were there. It's nice to have three cousins in the same area.

I would like to take this time to wish you a joyous Christmas season. Mark and I are looking forward to some quiet time to recharge our batteries for the new year. We have so many great memories of 2013 and so much to be thankful for. Memories aren't always easy to ponder but we thank God for giving us the ability to cope and move on.

Morning Star Quilts continues to be a joy and our favorite Happy Place. We will not be doing many shows in 2014. I really want to stay in town and focus on the store more. Lots of new events will be coming your way. Our first new event is a Midnight Mystery and it already has filled so we will be doing 3 more of these next year. Sew Baby Sew (mini retreats) have also been added to the schedule. A newsletter and class schedule will be posted by December 15 on morningstarquilters.com. Remember we continue to add on classes after our newsletters are published so check frequently to see what's new.

We would like to invite you to our annual Christmas Open House. This years party will be December 9 from 4 - 7 pm. Beverages and hors d'oeuvres will be provided as well as surprise goodies and live music. Hope to see you there!

Our shelves are bursting with new fabric and notions. Please remember to add us to your Christmas list. Here's some new shop photos!

Home!!!!!

We've been home 4 days since Pacific International Quilt Festival and I'm still tired. I hate it when I realize my age is creeping up on me. Yikes, I could start collecting Social Security this month. We don't have another vendor gig till next fall. Mark and I decided I need to stay home more for awhile to help my parents. We had to move my Dad to a skilled nursing facility one month ago, and my Mom lives at Feather Canyon Senior facility. If we're home more I can be readily available to them. But on the other hand if I'm home more I can focus on the shop more. I enjoy vendoring but my first love is the store. The squirrel in my brain is running around in circles with lots of fun ideas.

PIQF was a great show this year and Laurie, Ronda, Mark and I had a marvelous time. We saw lots of friends from near and far, and made new friends also. Quilters are the best!!

Enjoy the pictures of our booth and some of the quilts.
