Good Morning and Happy Summer!
How is it possible summer is just running away? Although that means my favorite season is just around the corner. Helloooooo Fall. Fall brings some really fun events for us at Morning Star Quilts, River Run Shop Hop, Alden Lane Quilt Show in Livermore, Linda Ballard Retreats at MSQ, PIQF, Annie's Star Quilt Show, and the Pioneer Quilt Show in Roseville. And of course Fall Decorations - I LOVE them!
Mark and I got home late Sunday night from Redmond Oregon where we were vendors at the Oregon Summer Quilt Expo. Quilters extraordinaire had wonderful options to burn their time up. Classes in Sisters all week, a large selection of fabulous local quilt stores to shop at and a huge vendor mall to enjoy, and The Sisters Quilt Show on Saturday with quilts displayed everywhere. If that doesn't sound like a great place to spend a week then let me add, fishing, hiking, golfing, dining out, shopping in Mill District in Bend, beautiful scenery, and very nice people to meet and chat with. Here's some pictures of our booth in Redmond, Oregon.
Whenever we travel and our trip is quilt related my mind is always spinning with new ideas for the store and new quilt projects. Not a very restful trip but definitely inspiring. So all the way home Mark and I were brainstorming how to freshen up the store and change "The Look" of Morning Star Quilts.
Needless to say this week has been very busy at our shop. We're displaying almost 170 quilt samples and projects. Old and new, cotton and wool, and of course embroidery. The layout of the shop is totally different, and our muscles are sore. I mean how many times can you move thousands of bolts in one day over and over. Well I'll tell you A LOT!
Here's the end result.

We hope to see you soon. Enjoy your weekend!
